Monday, September 24 at 2pm in Mrs. Barry’s Room
Please join us for a brief demonstration of SmartMusic – an interactive practice software – that all 4th and 5th grade band members are using in our instrumental program this year. SmartMusic provides instant feedback to students and will allow for individualized assignments and one-on-one support outside of the large group lesson. Let’s Go Band!

The fourth grade band will rehearse together three times before the concert on May 25th. All rehearsals will be during the school day, but may be on a different day than your lesson. Mark these days in your calendar and be sure to bring your instrument and music folder!

Monday, May 23 – 9am School Assembly & 2pm Rehearsal
Wednesday, May 25 – 2pm Rehearsal

The end of the year is upon us (can you believe it!?!) and that means Concert Season is just around the corner. We ask that band, chorus, and string students work hard to prepare for the remaining rehearsals and lessons. Your attendance and practicing is key to the success of the ensemble. Everyone is important!

All music classes have started making music right away this year. In fact, our first all-school musical event will be on Wednesday, September 8th at Community Share. We will be performing our traditional “Chickering Welcome Song” for all the new members of our community: kindergarteners, faculty, staff, even principal. Check back, we hope to have some photos or video to share.
We are so excited to start the new school year at Chickering! We won’t waste anytime – we’re jumping right into music-making on the first day of school! Smile and let’s have some fun! 🙂
