Party Tomorrow!

The weather is finally cooperating with Chickering Chorus!

Tomorrow, we definitely need to take time out to record our “Snow Song” for Christina Whitten Thomas, our generous composer. Of course, we also need to congratulate ourselves on mastering some challenging and beautiful music. Bravo! Let’s eat some muffins in celebration!

Chickering Chorus is welcoming new members over the next few weeks – feel free to encourage your friends to try it out!

See you there!

Private Lesson Program

Did you know that Dover has an instrumental private lesson program right here in town?  You can sign up for 15 lessons at a time, so if you are not sure about making a long-term commitment, you can just try it for a semester.  Most of the lessons are taught at DS Middle or High School, but some teachers might be available to teach private lessons at Chickering!  Private lessons are an incredible supplement to our band program.  Please consider signing up for some one-on-one lessons that are sure to improve your playing!

Private Lesson Registration 10-11 – Follow the instruction on this registration form to sign up!

If you have any questions, please ask!

Play Along!

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could practice at home and hear the rest of the band playing with you?  Well, now you can!  If you click on the BAND link  at the top of the page, you will find some helpful recordings.  Currently the recordings are for 4th grade band and 5th grade Jazz Band. Here’s a sample below!

No chorus rehearsal 1/19/11

Once again, Mother nature is an obstacle for the Chickering Chorus. The snow, rain, freezing rain, and falling temperatures have caused me to cancel tomorrow’s rehearsal. Dover singers may be able to make their way to school safely by 7:30am. My commute is lengthy and I, however, may not be able to get there as quickly and can’t guarantee adult coverage for the number of students that arrive on time or early. I would feel much better, if we can all take our time in the morning.

I look forward to seeing everyone again next week (1/26). Perhaps a little surprise is in order….hmmm. Encourage anyone interested in joining for the rest of the year. This would be a terrific time to join.
